New Balance DC Cricket Bat Range 2022
Pedigree
New Balance have fast become a well-respected brand in the world of cricket & support some of the world’s best cricketers with a full array of cricket equipment, including high quality bats. The DC profile was added to the range to cater for batters who preferred a lower powerzone. It has formed an integral part of the NB range in league with the TC, Burn & Heritage.
The DC range has been made famous by ex-Australian Captain Steve Smith, who at one point was the world’s best batters, ahead of side joe Root & Virat Kholi. Smith has amassed an impressive 8,000 test runs with 28 100’s, just short of 5,000 ODi runs with 12 100’s & just short of 1,000 T20i runs with 4 50’s. It was also the first range used by Ben Stokes when he first broke into the England Side. The DC range is also favoured by many female cricketers most notably Meg Lanning of Australia who has amassed 4,000 WODi runs with an impressive 15 centuries.
Profile
Overview: Mid to low blade profile with sharp spine tapering off near the toe, ideal for players who enjoy flowing front foot drives & hitting over the top.
Powerzone: Mid to blade, aiding front foot attacking strokes along the floor or over the top. The lower power zone has become more popular due to T20 cricket & offers greater assistance when hitting Yorkers & low full tosses.
Shaping: A high spine profile with a duck bill toe to improve pick by reducing un-necessary weight far away from the hands. Moderate concaving between the spine & the edge maximising their height to achieve a combination of balance & power.
Handle: High quality 6-piece Singapore cane, round handle, which is better suited for players who are bottom hand dominant.
Toe: Squarer toe gives an extra wide feel in set-up. Comes with factory fitted toe guard
Grip: Comes with the NB DC grip with a slightly thick standard rib bottom & a thinner matrix top to aid top hand control.
Finish: Natural face, requires full preparation. Try our R2P service for £19.95
